Use of Cookies
This website does not place a "cookie" on the visitor's
computer or track the visitor's movements through the website.
Information Collected and Stored Automatically
A visitor can browse the website without revealing any personal
information. However, as a visitor reads webpages, certain
information is gathered and stored. This information does
not identify a visitor personally, and only information concerning
the date and time of visit, the webpages visited, and the
Internet Protocol (IP) address of the visitor's Internet Service
Provider (ISP) is collected. The IP identifies the ISP, but
does not identify the visitor personally. This information
is used for aggregate statistical purposes only, and allows
the Council to count the number of visitors and continually
evaluate and improve the website's organization and content.
Use of Personal Information
The only personal information that the Council will receive
concerning a visitor is that information provided voluntarily
and knowingly by the visitor. Regardless of the medium by
which you contact the Council, whether by electronic mail,
telephone, fax, or U.S. mail, personal information will only
be used for correspondence purposes. Official opinions drafted
by the Council in response to Freedom of Information Act questions
will be posted on the Council's website. The official opinions
placed online will only include the requester's name and locality
(Richmond, VA, for example).
